Core Responsibilities

  • Key driver of all People Operations & Development (PO&D) related activities for Japan business

  • Accountable to all different streams for implementation of People related activities

  • Accountable for implementation of end to end people agenda in the Japan business

  • Coach and sparring partner for Japan GM and leadership team

  • Supports leadership team in org design, talent management and engagement agenda

  • Accountable for governance in own area (org design principles i.e. spans and layers, FTR baseline etc).

  • Leverages CoE’s as business needs emerge that can be supported through our Operational teams

  • Responsible for the Operations agenda in the BU which includes Site Employee Relations, Handbooks, Benefits etc.

  • Japan has a very complex external labor agenda, needing to be hands on and proficient with leading the complex labor agenda in Japan and that experience is a must.

LEGO`s People Places and Culture (PPC) organisation includes 4 main areas: Talent, Reward & Insights, Diversity & Inclusion and Partnering & Operations function.

People Partnering is part of our PPC business area (PPC) and include Business Partnering as well as local Operations, Employee Relations, benefits, policies and execution. The partnering organization is responsible for developing and deploying the people & culture agenda in line with strategic direction of the LEGO Group. The operations organization serves as a backbone to enable the partners and the business in providing relevant solutions on people processes respecting geographical and site nuances.

The APAC Partnering & Operations team reports to the Global Partnering & Operations leader. Key collaborators include the APAC Market group leadership team, APAC leaders, ELT people partners.

Senior People Partner role for BU Japan is a significant role and will support the People & Culture agenda for BU Japan, which is part of the Asia Pacific Market group.

It will be also be part of the Japan leadership team, reporting to Regional head of People Partnering.

The main purpose of this role is to implement the end to end people agenda in Japan based on direction set by HR/ PPC Leadership.

Eventually, this role will also be the Site lead, that also owns the HR operations agenda for Japan site such as employee relations, compliance related work and the like.

Do you have what it takes:

  • Masters in business administration (preferred)

  • HR Qualification

  • 8+ years experience as HR Professional (HR Partner role preferred, but also has experience working on other support functions such as Comp & Ben, Mobility)

  • Experience in working in a global matrix organization

  • Capable of establishing and managing good relations to many different units and people at all levels in the organisation

  • Business understanding and some experience within project work and project tools

  • Open minded, structured, and a strong collaborative approach

  • Strong collaborator management
