IP Engineer

Position Description
Zayo is seeking a network engineer to design and implement customer orders for  IP/Ethernet service on Zayo’s European network, and to assist in the deployment of Zayo’s European network infrastructure in order to contribute to the growth and the enhancement network.

Key tasks

• Design network IP service solutions for customers and manage implementation of the solutions on onto Zayo’s Global network
• Maintain records & data base of customer solutions and ensure all required customer functionality is delivered and installed.
• Deploy network infrastructure and IP Services in collaboration with teams of Presales Engineers, Project Managers, Sales team and Architecture department.
• Analyze internal service orders to determine appropriate actions and collaborate with other departments to execute installation tasks
• Perform migration projects under out of hours maintenance windows
• Liaise with IP Architecture team to ensure network implementation requirements are met.
• Prepare regular progress reports of the activities related to customer builds and network infrastructure rollouts
• Ensure successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

• Undertake any other ad hoc duties as deemed appropriate by the appropriate Manager / Director.

Key Skill and Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as network engineer, experience within service provider networks is preferred.
• Operational experience with carrier-class routers and switches (experience with Juniper, Nokia or Cisco required)
• Experience with customer NID/CPE for L2/L3 IP services
• Very Good knowledge of Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocols (IPv4+v6/BGP/ISIS/VPLS/IPVPN/MPLS/ELINE and more).
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a precise attention to detail in an interrupted work environment.
• Experience with troubleshooting and migration of IP services
• Experience in presale stage of IP services is a plus.
• Fluency in English both written and spoken
• Juniper / Nokia / Cisco network certification – CCNP level or higher
