Being part of our team, you will:

  • Manage product research and development initiatives, anticipate technological trends to drive innovation and roadmaps, investigate emerging technologies and develop new designs or techniques which could be regarded as significant advances in the technical community
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams in the different stages of multiple customer programs, drive system architecture and technical concepts based on internal and external requirements
  • Offer direction and influence to engineering management for long range product development objectives, determine options and facilitate decision making on technical challenges
  • Uncover and resolve problems associated with the development and implementation of existing products and programs
  • Effectively represent Garmin in external meetings with customers and suppliers
  • Support engineering management and take an active role in building up the system architecture team, mentor, and train other systems engineers

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.
