Summary:
Senior Finance Control Design Program Lead is responsible for developing and implementing the processes, tools, and governance to effectively manage the Contra Revenue Controls end to end, across the WW Commercial Organization.
This role extends beyond traditional finance to encompass business topics from sales & marketing programs to payment via financial accruals.
The primary objective is to anticipate and prevent business and financial risks before they can significantly or materially impact HP’s financial statements.
Responsibilities:
1) Lead the design, development and implementation of an optimized end-to-end control framework for Contra Accruals SOX and Substantive testing purposes:
- Project management in close collaboration with multiple internal & external stakeholders (CFR, Internal Audit, Controls and Compliance Hub, Contra Design, Market Finance, IT, E&Y, Deloitte)
- Conduct detailed scoping and risk assessment especially on IT dependency and non-standard accrual mechanism.
- Design, simulation, and testing to ensure the right level of precision of the control while optimizing the operational execution process.
2) Foster transformation and knowledge transfer
- lead the optimization and standardization of accounting related mechanism (booking scheme, timing, account reconciliation, and aging profile)
- Actively participate in the structural contra accrual project, Purple, which aims at standardizing and automating the contra accrual mechanisms
- Drive a solid accountability while also ensure a strong knowledge/expertise transfer with the contra market teams thanks to training and coaching sessions
3) Drive and document an independent and thorough Risk Coverage Analysis for Contra Revenue (on both business and finance aspects) to ensure continuous improvement in controls processes:
- Draw a detailed mapping of the key business, financial, IT processes with and associated heatmap of risks and materiality.
- Consult key subject matter experts across business and finance organizations to corroborate the risk and materiality analysis.
- Develop analytic tools and processes, by integrating new technologies such as AI/ML, to detect and anticipate new risks.
- Provide documented conclusions and drive concrete actions to continuously improve the control coverage and reduce the risks.
Education and Experience Required
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence
- CA/CPA is required.
- Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in financial management, audit, accounting, or a related field. Experience in one of the big audit firms is a plus
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP, accounting principles, compliance & controls, with advanced knowledge in one area.
- SOX Documentation understanding (business process/system mapping).
- Process Improvement (yellow or greenbelt) is nice to have.
- Demonstrated cross-functional, cross-cultural collaboration and international experience.
- Proven expertise in large project or program management.
- Highly organized and structured.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solution-oriented with a can-do attitude.
- Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Autonomous and transparent.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to model/simplify complex processes/issues.
- Strong ability to prepare materials for executive reviews.
- High sense of accountability.
- Ability to influence into a complex matrix organization is critical.
The pay range for this position is $104.800 to $158.250 per hour (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
