Join IQVIA's EMEA Real-World Methods and Evidence Generation team as an Epidemiology Intern and gain hands-on experience contributing to high-impact real world evidence (RWE) studies for leading clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

The Role

As an Epidemiology Intern, you will be fully embedded within the Epidemiology team and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of real-world studies. You will be supported by a line manager, work alongside experts across various fields, and have access to unparalleled real-world healthcare data. You will have the opportunity to advance your career in pharmacoepidemiology within a stimulating and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the design, execution, and reporting of diverse real-world studies using healthcare databases

  • Conducting background research and literature reviews

  • Assisting with writing study documents such as protocols, slide decks and study reports

  • Contribute to data interpretation and results presentation

  • Participate in internal meetings and project discussions

  • Presenting your work to the Epidemiology team as part of structured learning milestones

  • Collaborating with internal IQVIA teams, including strategy and technical consultants, health economists, and local teams across the EMEA region

This is a 6-month paid internship with the opportunity to be considered for a full-time position at the end of the program. The position is based in the UK, Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, or Bulgaria, with flexibility regarding location and frequency of office and home working, depending on the local setup.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for candidates who can quickly integrate into our project teams and contribute meaningfully during the internship. If you share our passion for driving healthcare advancements through unparalleled data, enjoy collaborating to solve complex problems and believe you could be a good fit, we encourage you to apply. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong academic background in (Pharmaco)Epidemiology, or a closely related health discipline with a focus on epidemiology (Master’s or PhD level)

  • A strong understanding of epidemiologic study designs and methods

  • Excellent skills in scientific writing and communication in English

  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks and deliver on deadlines

  • Enthusiasm for applying their skills in a fast paced, collaborative consulting environment

Desirable but not required:

  • Prior hands-on experience working with secondary healthcare databases (e.g. electronic health records, claims databases, registries)

  • Exposure to statistical analysis tools such as R, SAS, or STATA

  • Previous publications in peer reviewed journals and/or abstracts in scientific conferences

What to expect next? Timeline:

  • Application deadline: 23 June, 9 am CEST

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a pre-recorded video interview (27-29 June)

  • Successful candidates will be invited to a short conversation with a Recruiter (7-8 July)

  • Candidates who qualify for the further stage will be invited to complete a written assignment (10-20 July, you will have at least 1 week to prepare)

  • Candidates who move on to the final stage will be invited to the final round – a panel presentation interview (25 July - feedback, 28 July -1 August – final interview)
