Job Description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel, Inc., the #1 toy company in the US, is seeking a Sr. Sales Rep for the Growth Channel/Specialty business.  This position will be responsible for managing an assigned account base primarily focused on specialty stores.   

The ideal hire must utilize a data insight-driven sales approach, be proactive and focus on providing solutions, develop excellent rapport with the customer, prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, effectively communicate with buyers and cross-functional teams, and maintain expert knowledge of the breadth of Mattel’s product line.

This position will be based in one of our sales offices. 

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Manage a diverse account base of customers and meet the business channel sales goal by brand.
  • Develop and present strategic account plans for key customers, including planogram development, forecasting, and promotional planning.
  • Manage and partner with cross-functional teams to execute licensed partnership orders.
  • Proactively explore customer opportunities for product placements and promotions both instore and online.
  • Maintain consistent communication across the accounts daily; build and maintain strong relationships with accounts.
  • Assist in managing the B2B platform
  • Develop sell sheets and mass emails to account base to deliver sales goals.
  • Be the liaison with the US marketing teams on unique brand initiatives.
  • Partner with brokers in the assigned account base to achieve targets.
  • Responsible for extensive knowledge of the breadth of Mattel’s brands to recommend up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Analyze POS and shipment data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain and update item level forecasts into Mattel’s system.
  • Manage and present monthly sales forecasts on team meetings for the assigned account base.
  • Attend Toy Fairs, select trade shows, and account visits as necessary; travel approximately 15% of the time throughout the year.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ related sales experience
  • Proven success in direct selling roles and achieving sales goals
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a diverse client base of accounts
  • Thorough understanding of customer service practices and policies
  • Ability to grasp detailed product knowledge, selling policies, promotions, etc.
  • Resilient, optimistic and passion to continually focus and achieve goals
  • Self-initiative and motivation to manage area of responsibility with little supervision
  • Tactfulness and business acumen in interpersonal relations – both internally and externally
  • Strong communication with internal and external partners
  • Business acumen; ability to understand retail distribution across various retail channels and business models
  • Experience in Sales, Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Retail environment a plus
  • Omni-channel experience a plus
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $87,000 to $100,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs, comprehensive benefits, and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
