monthly viewers. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media
company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television, and commerce.
The New York Post is currently seeking an experienced FT (10AM-6PM M-F) Temporary Photo Researcher to to support its Alexa Magazine team. Alexa is published 10+ times a year in an upscale broadsheet format and inserted into the New York Post, Alexa showcases luxury lifestyle trends and celebrity exclusives.
The ideal candidate has a passion for fashion, luxury, lifestyle and entertainment. They have a keen eye for visual storytelling and vast knowledge of current events in the industry.
We're looking for a highly motivated focused individual who can juggle multiple projects and
deadlines simultaneously. We place a very strong emphasis on time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks by urgency and time to completion. An editorial background is
preferable. A self-starter mindset is essential.
The position is 5 days/week starting in August through December
Note: This is NOT a photography based role. This is a desk-based support position.
Responsibilities include:
● A precise technical quality and visual presentation of images and information
● Curate images spanning celebrity, fashion, entertainment and lifestyle
● Source images from various sources (photo agencies, publicists, archives, online
databases, cold calls), negotiating licensing agreements, and managing image
databases
● Promptly process and deliver a large #s of images with the utmost efficiency to our
cross functional teams - this includes but is not limited to batch resizing, renaming or
logging thorough metadata within the files for others to utilize
● Effectively prepare images for the digital grid with metadata; create project folders,
maintain and re-organize accordingly as we progress
● Support the Photo Editor with shoot production on an administrative level, as follows:
● Facilitate catering and car services
● Provide direct support on photoshoots in a Production Assistant capacity, including but
not limited to coffee runs, miscellaneous pickups and arriving first to set
● Gather + format crew credits for print; handles for social
● Maintain Google Docs to support Photo Editor and team: spreadsheets, callsheets,
decks, drives, shared asset deliveries + credits, and so on
their placement on page; actively monitor photos and credits on the print layouts from
beginning to end
● Ability to communicate clearly and punctually with the team on a daily basis, keeping
track of varied conversations, updates and adjustments happening simultaneously and
on varying platforms
The ideal candidate has:
● At least 2 years of experience with a multi-platform media digital/print brand
● Excellent news judgment with knowledge of luxury fashion, news, entertainment and
lifestyle
● Collaborative, solution-oriented, and energized by industry breaking news
● Strong research skills, knowledge of image licensing, and ability to work with digital
asset management systems, newsgathering and social media tools
● Keen ability to multi-task, and independently problem solve: if something is not readily
available, how else are you able to source it
● Self starter attitude; intuitively pursue out-of-the-box resources, research and
fact-check your work frequently
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure

Airtable

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00
