Join our expert team as a Linux Server Build and Automation Engineer (UNIX) and take charge of server provisioning, automation, and decommissioning for DXC-supported customers. You'll focus on engineering, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth acceptance of customer systems into production, all while maintaining DXC’s operational and security standards. Leverage Ansible to automate server provisioning processes, develop and fine-tune playbooks tailored to specific customer needs. Work closely with project teams, managers, and delivery coordinators to drive efficiency and innovation in a fast-paced environment!
Daily challenges
Managing Server Provisioning related activities for DXC clients;
Adhering to Server Provisioning and implementation processes and guidelines;
Supporting and guiding requestors for their requests incl. creating and updating the customer specific procedures, scheduling the Server Provisioning related tasks, etc.;
Providing recommendations to improve the build process and procedures and address critical issues and root cause analysis;
Be actively involved in automating and improving the already established Server Provisioning processes by using automation tools and scripts to minimize the effort and time for Server provisioning.
eXperience and skills required
Minimum 2 years of experience in IT Operations or infrastructure support, including Server OS, Wintel, Linux, VMware, or Network management;
Strong knowledge of Server Hardware (HPE, IBM) and Virtualization Technologies;
Hands-on experience with Unix platforms (Linux OS, AIX) and Hypervisors (VMware ESX, KVM, or others);
Proficiency in automation using Ansible, with scripting skills in Python, YAML, and Bash;
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent;
Relevant certifications such as RHCE, MCSE, Oracle/MCDBA, CCNA, or CCNP are a plus;
Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
