The Team:

The Impact:

This is a hands-on role.

This role provides technical leadership and architectural direction to the Environmental Solutions group, directly impacting the development of systems addressing environmental and sustainability goals. As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you'll define enterprise and application architectures, APIs, information models, and interoperability frameworks while managing technology risks and potentially leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and manage technical architecture for Environmental Solutions projects, including cloud infrastructure, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and data platforms.

  • Own and drive the Information Modelling workstream, creating comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure consistency, flexibility, and scalability.

  • Design, implement, document, and oversee APIs, microservices, and service-oriented architectures to enable seamless system interoperability.

  • Provide technical leadership on cloud architecture solutions, including containerized applications using Kubernetes (k8s), Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Maintain oversight of cybersecurity best practices, conducting security architecture reviews and ensuring compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate across organizational levels to ensure alignment of architecture standards and practices with environmental and business objectives.

  • Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams (UML or equivalent), information models, data governance frameworks, integration guidelines, and technical policies.

  • Fully own the information modelling workstream, designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models and metadata standards.

  • Drive innovation and continuous learning, staying informed about emerging technologies relevant to environmental and sustainability solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, information modelling, data governance, software development, and system integration.

  • Deep expertise and proven ownership of information modelling and data architecture practices, including metadata management, conceptual/logical/physical modelling, and data governance.

  • Proven hands-on experience with API design, microservices architectures, cloud computing, Kubernetes (k8s), containerization, ETL, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity standards, risk management practices, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Exceptional documentation and diagramming skills (UML or equivalent).

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts across various teams and levels of the organization.

  • Critical thinking, abstract problem-solving ability, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Desired experience:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing systems related to commodity markets, including trading platforms.

  • Familiarity with market mechanisms and regulations governing carbon trading and environmental credits.

  • Experience working with environmental registries that track carbon credits, renewable energy certificates, or other sustainability-related data.

  • Understanding of compliance requirements and best practices for data management within environmental registries.

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

Compensation:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120000 to $290000 (US) . Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
