Responsibilities
At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a GIS Synchronization Architect to join our UniQue team in The Hague, Netherlands!
We are seeking a GIS Synchronization Architect to lead a strategic project for the Institution’s Core GIS system. The architect will oversee the identification, evaluation, and design of synchronization solutions across distributed data centers, focusing on ArcGIS Enterprise environments. The final outcome will be a complete architectural design and optionally a technical demonstrator validating the synchronization strategy.
What will you be doing in this role:
- Identify and document synchronization needs across Core GIS data, services, configurations, and PaaS infrastructure (e.g., identity management, antivirus, firewall).
- Conduct a project kick-off workshop and a System Requirements Review (SRR) with subject matter experts (SMEs) from the Institution.
- Deliver finalized synchronization requirements with defined cycles and dependencies.
- Analyse and evaluate procedural and technical synchronization options based on:
- Level of automation
- Technical complexity
- Manual or procedural effort
- Synchronization latency
- Compatibility with the Institution’s IaaS/PaaS environment
- Conduct two Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) to present and refine synchronization solutions.
- Select optimal synchronization approaches for each requirement in collaboration with the Institution.
- Deliver a complete Final System Design (FSD) covering:
- Logical and physical architecture
- Implementation details and required components
- Step-by-step procedures
- Tools, services, and integration requirements
- Lead a Critical Design Review (CDR) and incorporate feedback into the FSD.
- Set up and demonstrate a technical feasibility demonstrator at the contractor’s facilities:
- Synchronization of ArcGIS services, portal content, and distributed data holdings
- Execute defined synchronization scenarios using test data and licenses (provided temporarily by the Institution, if required).
