Position Overview: As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for communicating, directing, and translating the data vision, roadmap, and workflow requirements. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our Canada upstream content strategy and ensuring alignment with industry needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and promote product visions through meetings with industry partners, colleagues, and clients.
  • Provide industry expertise and insights to develop new products and workflows, particularly focusing on upstream content, engineering, and geological data.
  • Stay up to date on provincial regulations and data offerings
  • Deliver technical support to customers and respond to internal/external inquiries regarding upstream data and Canada Upstream Content datasets.
  • Act as a key liaison for the development team, translating content requirements into clear and specific user stories for implementation.
  • Utilize domain knowledge to perform complex information querying, analysis, and compilation concerning S&P database schemas and products.
  • Plan, prioritize, and maintain a healthy backlog of user stories that align with product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (sourcing, operations, product management, development, and delivery) to ensure goals are clear and aligned with business objectives.
  • Create and deliver a wide range of training materials to be hosted on S&P platforms.
  • Champion customer perspectives in meetings, clearly communicating priorities, dependencies, and roadblocks to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Product Management, Developers, Database Administrators, and Marketing to meet customer needs, including pre-sale and post-sale support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant University degree, relevant qualification (certification), and/or equivalent experience.
  • Geological and/or engineering knowledge is essential.
  • Experience in production, exploration, drilling, or reservoir engineering is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in the oil and gas industry is a must.
  • Familiarity with one or more product disciplines (e.g., Accumap, Information Hub, Petra, Kingdom) is considered an asset.
  • Experience as a product manager or building technology powered products for the energy industry considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, observant, and investigative mindset.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong presentation skills are required.
  • Experience or training with Oracle, SQL, database management and Agile methodology preferred.
  • A sense of urgency in resolving client issues.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on assignments.
