The Biosciences Division (BID) within the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG), includes the Sample Prep, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Protein and Cell Analysis business units. The combined portfolio offers our customers unique solutions across Life Science workflows, ultimately enabling them to accelerate their research and find answers to some of the key challenges that society faces today in healthcare, security, energy and the environment.
As the Senior Director, General Manager for the Genomics Workflow & Automation (GWA) segment within the Sample Prep business unit, you will oversee DNA and RNA extraction solutions. Your responsibilities include developing global portfolio strategies, defining the innovation roadmap, driving market leadership, and managing product life cycles to enhance growth and profitability. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of customer applications and proficiency in both daily operations and long-term planning.
What will you do:
Lead a product management team focused on growing a product and OEM portfolio inclusive of instruments and consumables enabling manual and automated workflows for research and clinical applications.
Refine and drive business segment strategy to achieve our near- and long-term financial objectives including revenue and margin.
Partner with R&D to advance new product roadmaps including organic and inorganic opportunities as well as support life cycle management for existing products.
Leverage business development to develop optimal licensing, partnership, and acquisition strategies to address gaps and supplement the existing product portfolio.
Partner with sales and marketing to ensure successful commercialization of new products as well as optimize our go to market strategy including price and positioning to deliver on revenue commitments.
Drive strategic alignment with internal partners in support of selling workflow solutions through various channels.
Responsible for working closely with Operations to ensure robust supply chain and focus on driving productivity through PPI, insourcing, and E&O initiatives.
Lead an impactful team by hiring, engaging and developing dedicated and motivated employees.
Prepare executive level material for business reviews, customer presentations, and executive reviews.
How will you get here:
Education
Bachelor's degree required MBA, MS or University Degree (PhD) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science strongly preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience in clinical, healthcare, or life sciences fields also considered.
Experience:
10+ years’ experience in roles spanning across product management, marketing, business development, or sales. 5+ years of people leadership and general management.
Deep understanding of product commercialization process (PCP) for research, applied and clinical markets.
Strong analytical & critical thinking skills used to analyze market trends, conduct market research/intelligence gathering, analyze business performance data allowing for accurate trend assessments and forecasting.
Consistent track record of driving programs forward with a focus on financial results and product innovation.
Proven ability to organize and drive diverse cross functional teams to deploy solutions under tight timeframes.
Effective at influencing others and building relationships in a global, matrixed environment with a collaborative approach.
Comfortable with ambiguity, able to quickly adjust to market changes, and skilled in inspiring and managing teams through strategic leadership.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
