Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)

Salary: £35,019.00 per annum

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Flooring Fitter to join our Property Services team in Kent. Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for undertaking both responsive and planned maintenance tasks across our properties, with a primary focus on flooring installation and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flooring Installation & Repair:
  • Prepare work areas, including clearing furniture and removing doors.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning and leveling with compound as required.
  • Cut and fit underlay.
  • Install various flooring materials (carpets, wood, laminates, vinyl) using appropriate methods (stretching, stitching, taping, heat-sealing, gluing).
  • Re-position furniture and re-hang doors upon completion.
  • Remove old flooring materials to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean existing flooring.
  • Painting & Decorating:
  • Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, and steam cleaning.
  • Remove old wallpaper and loose paint.
  • Repair cracks and holes in walls and joinery using fillers/sealants.
  • Prepare/sand surfaces for decorative product application.
  • Groundwork Repairs:
  • Carry out a range of groundwork repair tasks.
  • General Duties:
  • Perform tasks in both occupied and empty properties.
  • Undertake other duties as deemed reasonable by the Head of Property Services.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with your line manager and team members.
  • Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required.
  • Support team members and provide on-the-job training.
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager.
  • Maintain up-to-date written and verbal communications.
  • Ensure all records are maintained according to company policies.
  • Liaise closely with line manager, team members, other teams, and field-based staff.
  • Professional Development:
  • Monitor own work levels, progress, and development.
  • Undertake all core learning and development programs.
  • Pursue relevant learning according to an agreed Personal Development Plan.
  • Compliance & Professionalism:
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a good understanding of relevant contract legislation.
  • Undertake any other duties within the scope of responsibility and ability as required.
