The Role: Lead Quality Engineer

The Team:

The S&P EDO Technology Quality Engineering team comprises of global teams that is responsible for the quality and delivery of applications, ensuring efficient data governance and management.

Responsibilities: Be a self-starter; operate independently as part of an agile team, advocate for software testing best practices.

  • Develop, execute, and improve application test suites based on software requirements, technical specifications, and end user’s workflows.
  • Design and perform hands on test automation solutions and scripts using python, Java and other technologies determined to best suit our needs.
  • Manage, maintain QA and UAT environments along with build and deployments, co-ordinate production deployments and release planning.
  • Keep abreast in understanding business domain and customer needs to constantly perform gap analysis and remediation in application test coverage.
  • Design and develop low-code/no-code automation solutions that meet organization standards and build reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites & test harnesses Deliver solutions within a multi-functional Agile team.
  • Utilizing Continuous Integration and Delivery development practices.
  • Design and develop test plans, test cases based upon functional and design specifications, execute test cases and analyze and report test results to the teams
  • Work in partnership with the development teams to deliver business functionality on time with required quality that meets the acceptance criteria
  • Acts as a test lead, planning the work of other testing staff and assigning tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Focus on building efficient solutions for Web, Services/APIs, Database testing requirements.
  • Participate in internal/cross team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, technical reviews for assigned projects in an Agile environment
  • Involved in requirements review and participate in architecture/design reviews with an emphasis on test automation strategy and ensuring best practices
  • Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities
  • Capture quality assurance data and metrics to provide insights and conclusions
  • Estimate and perform risk analysis for quality delivery
  • What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in complete software/database testing activities.
  • Hands on experience working with testing frameworks, Cucumber, Carina and/or equivalent specifically for Web applications.
  • Work as a hybrid QA professional with experience in both manual & automation testing.
  • Come up with test strategies and test plans for new and existing features
  • Evaluate requirements and define testing objectives and approaches while working in a global Agile Scrum team.
  • Contribute to end to end testing of software/Database changes on the basis of functional and non functional requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Hands on experience with Object oriented language like Java or Python.
  • Experience in SQL a must. Knowledge of PL/SQL, No SQL DB, Linux/UNIX, Jenkins preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills to work in cross functional teams, and proactively resolves issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS/Azure, containers, dockers, RDS etc.,
  • Experience in refactoring and extending test automation/performance frameworks and suites as necessary
  • Experience with creating test automaton frameworks of with REST, micro services
  • Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git , Github
  • Exposure to SQL/PL-SQL, writing SQL queries, stored procedures and RDBMS
  • Experience of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices and experience in Agile methodology
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS/Azure, containers, dockers is a plus
  • Demonstrate ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deliver clear, concise documentation and presentations
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
