Location/Division Specific Information
Position based in Houston, TX, and will support the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD).
Discover Impactful Work:
The Senior Manager Supplier Development provides technical expertise and direction in the selection of technologies, processes, and suppliers. Functions as a technical liaison between suppliers, engineering, Category Management and business unit CMD to resolve supplier related issues and identify and qualify new suppliers.
A Day in the Life:
Interacting with and reporting to key partners both internal external within the field of Enterprise and Supplier Development.
Provide oversight for the development and deployment of policies and procedures to drive compliance.
Conducts and leads production readiness reviews between the supplier and the Business Units throughout the development process to organize and analyze all areas of supplier production in preparation for full rate output.
Lead & project handle multi-functional teams for key sourcing and supply chain initiatives.
Ensure compliance in Sourcing Strategy execution (Contracts implementation, Segregation of duties, Support in Audits & action plans).
Ensure the connection between suppliers and Factory to gather innovation, new solutions and reduce time to market.
Drive a systematic problem solving, process improvement, and value enhancement approach applying Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) principles in collaboration with suppliers.
Assure supplier’s corrective and preventive action plans are developed and implemented in compliance with an 8D process.
Perform supplier QMS on-site assessments and assistance visits for supplier selection, to improve supplier performance, and achieve balanced improvement objectives.
Support the Supply Chain activities and direction on supplier development, risk management, reduction and consolidation.
Conduct assessments/audits on the processes of existing suppliers on a periodic basis.
Support organisational change within the function.
Sourcing responsibility for Capex & Goods & Services according to Categories guidelines (Maintain and develop relationships with key local suppliers’ performance evaluation and feedback).
Share with the central categories market intelligence, dynamics, main drivers and players to ensure the sourcing strategy alignment and implementation.
Ensure development & maintenance of supplier tech capabilities (process & product) in support of current & future supply chain strategies, CMD/MSD, and JTS current & future product tech requirements.
Ensure an effective & efficient regionalized approach & process for component qualification/validation is in place.
Identify & communicate the requirements for component qualification/validation to supplier.
Identify and carry out necessary activities to ensure supply chain compliance prior to required compliance date.
Support of Continuous Improvement activities.
Identify & communicate the requirements for component qualification/validation to suppliers.
Keys to Success:
Education
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in a technical field of engineering, or related required, and Masters Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or similar technical fields (preferred).
Experience
10 years of experience in supplier quality, development or mfg related function with 5 years in a leadership role in APQP, PPAP, RCA required.
- Experience and familiarity with industrial equipment OEMs, measurement and sensing products industries serving the Health Care, Electronics, Electromechanics and Optics markets.
Professional Certification in Six Sigma, CMQ/OE, CQE, PMP, and/or Lead Auditor highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to identify, assess, resolve, and where needed, call out risks.
Flexible, with strong risk and prioritization skills.
Ability to identify areas of improvement and devise, plan and implement solutions.
Ability to effectively identify content, design and deliver training with regard to work processes and/or purchased elements.
Work Industry experience with Capital Equipment and/or Contract Manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through timely decision making and the ability to prioritize, plan, and measure work.
Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute to the success of a global company.
Flexibility and desire to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally.
