Production Operative with Counterbalance Forklift Licence

Location: Darlington
Hourly Rate: £15.18 (rising to £15.55 after 3 months) + shift allowance
Hours: Weekly rotating shifts - 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Contract Type: Ongoing temporary assignment (long-term potential)

We are currently recruiting a Production Operative with strong counterbalance forklift experience to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Darlington. This is a full-time role offering long-term stability and the opportunity to develop within a supportive team environment.
Please note: This role is primarily production-based. A valid, in-date counterbalance forklift truck licence is essential, and candidates must be confident operating in a busy, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to transport raw materials, components, and finished products
• Load and unload machinery and storage areas
• Support material movement for mixing, extrusion, and blending processes
• Assist production teams with basic machine operations as required
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to all health and safety procedures
• Accurately follow batch sheets and standard operating procedures
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality control, and warehouse staff

Person Specification

• Valid, in-date counterbalance forklift truck licence (essential)
• Recent experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and good time management skills
• Willingness to support wider production tasks where needed
