What you’ll achieve
As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Develop, test and deploy scripts and utilities that support the testing of new Dell Server & Storage platforms in Dell/ODM manufacturing facilities world-wide

• Clearly communicate development status and issues 

• Interface with various teams including Global Operations, Product Development and Dell/ODM factory engineering teams to ensure the test process is compatible with new product offerings

• Replicate, debug and provide timely status and resolution for factory test issues

Essential Requirements

• Proficient in: Python, C/C++, UEFI Shell scripting; Windows-PE, UEFI Shell, Linux environments

• Good knowledge of: Programming languages, operating systems, firmware, BIOS, device drivers, databases, system/network/application administration, embedded software/firmware, tools/utilities

• Ability to code/debug: Flexible, scalable, complex programs; guide others using written/verbal design specifications

• Quick learner: Adapt to new tools, languages, operating systems with training/on-the-job experience

• Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities

Desirable Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of related experience; Bachelor’s degree

• L10 factory experience

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position in Austin is $170,000 - $220,000.
