12The Role: Director Relationship Management
The Team: The Relationship Manager, a senior-level position, that is part of a team leverages knowledge of the physical commodity markets to enhance relationships with customers and help them realize bottom-line benefits from the use of S&P Commodity Insights products. Due to the breadth of knowledge, the Relationship Management brings to the relationship, they are seen by the customer as the guardians of the strategic customer relationship, orchestrating the deployment of corporate-wide resources to provide value to Commodity Insights Accounts. They are responsible for the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with a defined customer base to ensure high-level customer satisfaction.
The Impact: Providing the customer with an advocate who provides support and collaboration with products and services from Commodity Insights. Increase broader adoption of existing and new services as well as the retention of existing business. As the customer advocate, they must also provide actionable customer feedback that will enhance Commodity Insights products and services to earn client business.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing S&PCI key relationships for American Strategic and Regional accounts.
- Develops and builds meaningful and lasting relationships with key and influential contacts.
- Understand the client's business priorities and needs. Act as an advocate and ensure customers are maximizing the value of their investment with S&PCI.
- Continuous investigative and collaborative contact with customers to gather strategic information about their business, understand their issues, uncover unrecognized problems providing solutions to them
- Acts as a broker of capabilities or services for clients, advocates internally, and facilitates the involvement of sales and other functions to achieve common goals for the client and S&PCI
- Ensures client derives value from enterprise-wide licenses to maintain loyalty by working closely with the Commercial and Research organization, to drive increased usage and broad adoption.
- AI Utilization: Utilize Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI applications to assist with finding the right information, conducting industry research, responding to client request.

Qualifications:
- New York / Houston based - This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
- Proven experience of managing major or complex accounts in the financial industry
- Broad understanding of the energy industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Competent at creating and identifying needs using a proactive and consultative sales approach.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI applications, with the ability to leverage these tools for responding to customer inquiries and search requests.
