Job Description
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As our Operations Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the performance and efficiency of our new H&M 3PL Distribution Center (DC) in Ploiesti, Romania, focused on retail replenishment. You will work closely with the DC Manager and our 3PL partner, serving as a business partner to the Cluster Controller while monitoring operational and financial performance. Your insights and analysis will support strategic decision-making, ensure cost effectiveness, and drive operational excellence.
- Approx. 80% of the role is dedicated to operational controlling, focusing on monitoring and reporting performance, operational efficiency, and service quality in line with SLAs and KPIs (e.g. cost, service, sustainability), while the remaining 20% is focused on financial controlling and related analysis.
- Support the DC Manager and 3PL partner with regular reporting, financial insights, and data-driven analysis
- Perform in-depth analyses to identify performance gaps and areas for operational improvement
- Define and maintain reporting frameworks aligned with H&M global guidelines and DC audit routines
- Provide both qualitative and quantitative decision support to DC leadership
- Oversee, challenge, and validate operational planning in collaboration with the 3PL partner
- Ensure accurate invoicing and monitor key cost drivers from an H&M perspective
- Act as a backup for the DC Manager when required

Qualifications

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in controlling, ideally in logistics or warehouse environments
- Hands-on knowledge of logistics operations, controlling, and financial planning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and business case development
- Solid planning, prioritization, and follow-up capabilities
- Business proficiency in both Romanian and English
