Main responsibilities:
Management of a regional accounting team based in LabCorp’s EU Center and support to the EMEA Controller including recruitment, training, development, employee engagement, objective setting and completion of midyear and annual reviews
Prepare and review accounting entries in accordance with relevant accounting standards and policies
Review month-end closing activities and monthly financial reports, investigating significant variances in financial statement analyses
Review monthly cash flow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare, support and review quarterly SEC schedules, monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns, annual audits, statutory financial statements (SFS), corporate income tax (CIT) returns and statistical reports
Ensure all required information and documentation are provided to local service providers
Assist with the completion of all external, internal and special audits
Maintain strong internal relationships with Tax, Treasury, IAS and Payroll; as well as external relationships with local service providers, advisors and auditors
Make recommendations for improvements in processes and/or quality of information reported and assists with implementation of action plans
Operate in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements
Support the set-up of new companies and branches
Complete ad hoc projects and tasks as required
Education / Qualifications:
Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent number of years of experience
Part Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA
Experience:
5+ years accounting, reporting and compliance experience, including VAT returns, audit, statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns
3 – 5 years of managerial experience
Professional certification (CPA) and advanced Accounting degree preferred
Adhere to a pro-active approach, with the ability to problem solve, and interact professionally with internal and external clients in order to meet everyone’s needs in an effective and timely manner
Demonstrate ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
Proficient in Excel and Word (intermediate level)
Previous experience with ERP system (PeopleSoft preferred)
Problem solving skills
Experience in an international, multicurrency environment, preferably US corporate
Thorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAP principles and internal control environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with large amounts of data
